The Chrysler Museum of Art Continues to Disrupt Art in Springtime Style with Sprung, the Latest IgNITE Experience

NORFOLK, Va. (April 9, 2024) – If a garden party met Tinder in a dark alley and had a baby, IgNITE: Sprung would be it. Swipe right on the Chrysler and get ready for a whirlwind collective experience at the Museum, One Memorial Place, Norfolk.

Join a Latin dance lesson with the Mambo Room, see lush botanical-inspired art, watch improv from Push Comedy Theater and dance to bussin sets with DJ Melody. Find immersive photo ops, participate in sing-alongs, play single bingo, and even join a Love Me Tender game show. Cocktails and snacks will be available from Zinnia Café.

“The first IgNITE was a blast, and with the help of Norfolk’s creatives, we think IgNITE: SPRUNG will top it,” said Stacey Shelnut-Hendrick, Deputy Director for Public Engagement and Learning. “It’s our goal to continue disrupting and diversifying how most people see art and amplify how art shows up in popular culture. We want to play a vital role in connecting creatives at the forefront of art and culture and dance, and have fun while we are doing it!”

IgNITE is a seasonal art party that transforms the Museum into the ultimate nightlife destination. FAN-DA-MANIA, the first IgNITE art disruption had more than 500-party goers in attendance. With more attendees expected at Sprung, advance ticket sales are strongly recommended. Look for IgNITE: Sprung, Friday, April 26, from 7–10 p.m. and IgNITE: JULY-O-WEEN, Friday, July 26, from 7–10 p.m. So get your floral on, check your nails, flip your hair, and come shine!

IgNITE is presented thanks to generous support provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program. Special thanks to our community partners LAVA Presents, Foster Beauty and Utopia Feni Creative Studios.

Tickets are available starting at $10 for Museum members, $20 for non-members with tickets increasing $10 more at the door. Registration is strongly recommended. Ages 21+. Purchase tickets at chrysler.org/ignite.
