Volunteer Opportunities
We need you!
The Chrysler Museum of Art exists to enrich and transform lives. We bring art and people together through experiences that delight, inform, and inspire. We need partners, like you, to ensure the Museum is working for the community by working with the community.
By volunteering at the Chrysler Museum of Art, you have the opportunity to make an impact in our local community along with sending messages of love and hope throughout the world because the people we serve come from near and far.
Become a volunteer at the Chrysler Museum!
Docents
Docents are volunteer guides specially trained to facilitate Museum tours and support public engagement with the Museum’s collection. Docents interact with visitors and community members of all ages, but they are the primary way the Museum supports the education of thousands of Pre-K–12th grade students each year. We seek enthusiastic, caring, and socially minded personalities for the Docent program. Through discussion and inquiry learning techniques, a Docent’s role is to be a welcoming spark for curiosity and art engagement. In addition to leading tours, after an initial training period, Docents assist with various internal and external programs and participate in continuing education to expand their growth and development. Event Volunteers
The Chrysler Museum of Art hosts a number of events each year—both at the Museum and within the community. To do so takes a village! Event volunteers assist with day-of setup, guest assistance, registration, wayfinding, and clean-up. The goal is to ensure all event-goers feel cared for, at ease, and have a pleasant experience. The Chrysler Museum is looking for volunteers excited to greet visitors, answer questions, provide information, and make people feel welcomed and supported doing program activities. It’s key that all volunteers leave a positive impression that encourages continued Museum visitation, engagement, and support.

General Volunteers
A lot goes on behind the scenes at museums, and volunteers are needed to support small and large projects throughout the year across departments. General volunteers sign up for projects that pique their interests and fit their schedules. See the opportunities and availability below.
