Paul McCartney Photographs 1963–64: Eyes of the Storm
Here, There and Everywhere: Photography, Preservation, The Beatles, and Cultural Memory
March 17, 2024, 2–3 p.m.
Renowned photography conservator Debra Hess Norris certainly knows the essential role conservation plays in preserving cultural memory, and she has spent much of her life looking at photographs of The Beatles, including saving through conservation a rare photo album of The Beatles from 1961 to 1963. In conversation with the Chrysler Museum’s very own Conservator Mark Lewis, Debra Hess Norris, will discuss the role of photo conservation in preserving collective culture, the sentimental relationship between photos and human memory, and The Beatles.
