Julia Rogers of the Perry Glass Studio Elected to the 2025 Glass Arts Society Board

Higher Education and Outreach Coordinator Julia Rogers at the Perry Glass Studio

September 2024—The Chrysler Museum of Art proudly announces that Julia Rogers, Higher Education and Outreach Coordinator at the Museum’s Perry Glass Studio, has been elected to serve on the 2025 Glass Art Society (GAS) Board. Rogers will join 11 other new board members in bringing their expertise and innovative perspectives to the global glass community.

Rogers is an accomplished glass artist specializing in installation and performance art. She holds an M.F.A. from Bowling Green State University and has taught glassmaking at the university level since 2011. She previously owned and operated the Missoula School of Hot Glass in Missoula, Montana, and taught at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. Rogers currently runs the higher education programming at the Perry Glass Studio.

This announcement comes as university classes kick off at the newly expanded Perry Glass Studio, located at 245 Grace Street, Norfolk. The increased capacity of the Studio allows for expanded opportunities to engage our academic partners in the glass arts. While Rogers continues to inspire university students with hands-on glassmaking experiences, starting in mid-September, the public will also have the opportunity to enroll in glass classes at the Studio. Visit chrysler.org/glass to see upcoming demonstrations, classes, and more.
