IgNITE the Dance Floor with Disco, Drag and Glass Art at the Chrysler Museum of Art

NORFOLK, Va., July 18, 2025– Get out your hairspray, dust off your platform shoes, and travel through time to a groovy night of disco, retro vibes, and blazing hot glass! The Chrysler Museum of Art’s revolutionary art party, IgNITE is back, and it’s bringing the heat on July 25 from 7–10 p.m. at One Memorial Pl, Norfolk, VA 23510, with a night of creativity, super fly fashion, and an After Party Fire at the adjacent Perry Glass Studio beginning at 10 p.m.

IgNITE: Inferno invites visitors to step into the glitz and beats of the 1970s while dancing the night away with:

  • Genre-defying DJ sets by DJ Gabe Niles and DJ MyMyMy
  • ABBA musical stylings by Mama Trooper
  • High-volume, high-glam drag and karaoke
  • Vintage video games with Button Slashers
  • Fun fashion pop-up with Foster Beauty Fashion Show
  • Disco craft with Studio Kuumba
  • Creative cocktail tastings by Reverend Spirits
  • 4×4 Art Marketplace
  • And more!

IgNITE will also include an opportunity to view the Museum’s latest exhibition, “Clearly Indigenous: Native Visions Reimagined in Glass,” on view through September 14. Live glassblowing, flameworking and jewelry-making demonstrations will be held throughout the evening, offering visitors an up-close view into the techniques and materials used in the exhibition.

New to IgNITE!
To make this experience accessible for parents and caregivers, the Chrysler Museum has partnered with the Blocker Norfolk Family YMCA to provide evening childcare services. Parents and guardians may contact Laura Jackson at ljackson@ymcashr.org or 757-962-5535 for details and registration.

Happy Hour at Zinnia Café

Beat the lines and attend IgNITE’s Happy Hour beginning at 6 p.m. at the Museum’s restaurant, Zinnia Café, with food and beverage service continuing throughout the evening in both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Explore a reimagined nightlife experience set against the backdrop of the Museum’s renowned collection. General admission for IgNITE: Inferno is $25, with discounted admission of $10 available to Chrysler Museum members. Ticket prices increase by $10 at the door. Guests must be 18 years of age or older to attend. Advance registration is recommended.
