(NORFOLK, Va. – Jan. 16, 2024) — Calling all super fans! Get ready for the ultimate celebration of the power of fandoms Friday, Jan. 26, 7 – 10 p.m., at the Chrysler Museum of Art, One Memorial Place, Norfolk. From die-hard Swifties and Bunnies to the mighty Beyhive, this is your scene.
The 21+ crowd can dance the night away to throwbacks by the Backstreet Boys, New Edition, NSYNC and the Spice Girls and then turn it up with Tay and K-pop. So come out, represent your fandom, get your moment on the red carpet, enjoy photo ops and IgNITE this party.
“The Chrysler Museum is thrilled, and a bit in awe, at the immense response that IgNITE: Fan-da-Mania is receiving. This new event is designed to disrupt how most people see art and amplify how art shows up in popular culture. It connects creatives on the forefront of art and culture and anyone who just wants to have fun. It’s all so exciting to be a part of!” explained event creator Stacey Shelnut-Hendrick, deputy director for public engagement and learning for the Museum.
This art disruption experience will be a seasonal quarterly Museum happening. Look for SPRUNG, Friday, April 26 – from 7 – 10 p.m. and JULY-O-WEEN, Friday, July 26 from 7 – 10 p.m. Just like FAN-DA-MANIA, these events are for the 21+ crowd with ticketed registration in advance.
Tickets are available starting at $10 for Museum members, $20 for nonmembers with tickets increasing $10 more at the door. Registration is strongly recommended. For more information, please visit Chrysler.org or connect with us on Facebook or Instagram or call (757) 664-6200. Free parking is available.
IgNITE is presented thanks to generous support provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program. Special thanks to our community partners LAVA Presents, Foster Beauty and Utopia Feni Creative Studios.

ABOUT THE CHRYSLER MUSEUM OF ART
The Chrysler Museum of Art is one of America’s most distinguished mid-sized art museums, with a nationally recognized collection of more than 30,000 objects, including one of the great glass collections in America. The core of the Chrysler’s collection comes from Walter P. Chrysler, Jr., an avid art collector who donated thousands of objects from his private collection to the Museum. The Museum has growing collections in many areas and mounts an ambitious schedule of visiting exhibitions and educational programs each season. The Chrysler has also been recognized nationally for its unique commitment to inclusion with its innovative gallery host program.
The Perry Glass Studio is a state-of-the-art facility on the Museum’s campus. The studio offers programming for aspiring and master artists alike in a variety of processes, including glassblowing, fusing, flameworking, coldworking and neon.
In addition, the Chrysler Museum of Art administers the Moses Myers House, a historic house in downtown Norfolk, as well as the Jean Outland Chrysler Library. For more information on the Chrysler Museum of Art, visit chrysler.org.
