2017 Visiting Artist Series
This year’s artists included Micah Evans and Jay MacDonell.
Micah Evans
July 20–23
Micah Evans can be described as a glassmaking nomad, a Washington state native who started working with glass in the late ’90s. He’s lived, worked, and taught in Miami, FL, Penland, NC, and Austin, TX, and is well-versed in both glassblowing and flameworking. Evans work can be found in private collections across the country.
Jay MacDonell
November 3–5
Jay MacDonell has worked for artists such as Benand Sebastian, Xu Bing, Angelo Filomeno, Bruce Mau, Catherine Chalmers, and Mildred Howard. He has taught workshops at The Bay Area Glass Institute in San Jose, Pilchuck Glass School, Espace Verre in Montreal, and the Royal Danish School of Design. A multi-process artist, Macdonell is known for his botanical-inspired glass forms, mixed media architectural work, and video installations.
