Stanislav Libensky and Jaroslava Brychtova
May 10, 2014 — November 16, 2014
The Chrysler debuts its new glass focus gallery with an impressive presentation of works by the Czech husband-wife glass team of Stanislav Libensky and Jaroslava Brychtova.
More than a dozen works are on display, including extraordinary examples of their massive cast-glass sculptures, courtesy of Dudley and Lisa Anderson.
The two met in 1954, married in 1963, and worked together until Libenský’s death in 2002. They are known for large, simple, almost block-like elements of glass that they have infused with subtle colors and effects. Their work is in some of the top museums in the world, and they have executed numerous, highly acclaimed public art commissions in their native land.
