Pinaree Sanpitak
October 13, 2012 — December 30, 2012
Past Exhibition
The Chrysler Museum of Art presents an important solo exhibition by Pinaree Sanpitak, the first time this large-scale responsive installation has been shown in the U.S.
This gallery full of silk-covered forms, suggestive of the stupas found in Buddhist religious tradition, gently rock and sway in response to the movement of passers-by. These quiet shapes evoke a sense of nurturing, refuge and contemplation, and they bring a colorful sense of life to the Museum.
We’d like to thank all the volunteers who showed up for our Stupa Stuffing Party on Oct. 10. Your help with this installation was greatly appreciated.
