Drawn From The Vault
May 10, 2014 — July 27, 2014
Past Exhibition
Drawn from the Vault explores the Museum’s small but handsome selection of drawings and prints—light-sensitive objects that cannot be put on long-term display.
Featuring portraits, landscapes, pastels, watercolors, woodcuts, and etchings, this exhibition offers a wide cross-section of subjects, styles, and techniques. Among these informal sketches, preparatory studies, and finished masterworks are pieces by prominent artists like John Singer Sargent, John Sloan, and Grant Wood.
Drawn from the Vault proudly exhibits three centuries of art, and among the more than 50 works on view are some never before exhibited at the Chrysler.
