Family and Student Gallery
Artists/educators bring vitality to our communities. The 33 artists included in this exhibition work in Norfolk and Portsmouth as both visual artists and public school educators. By maintaining their own studio practice, each of these artists/educators bring an awareness to their profession that builds trust and models experimentation for their students. The youth in these two public school districts learn from talented working artists, and this exhibition celebrates those teachers who work to inspire the next generation of creative thinkers.
Participating artists include: Aimee Sirna, Amy Kerner, Angel Jones, April Taylor-Martin, Avis Lashonda, Carlie Pearson, Clayton Singleton, Crystal Haymes, Dani Krasner, Dorian Williams-El, Eafrica Johnson, Elliott Fisher, Georgeanna Fellio, Imagene Mallory, Jacquelyn Dingle, Jessica Kovalcik, Jim Cipalla, Joslyn Woods, Kimberly McKinnis, Kimberly Thebarge, Lanier Williams, L. Prenell Johnson, Marjorie Kinney, Mary Collins, Megan Webb, Meggin Watkins, Nfon Asuquo, Patrick Bullock, Samantha Wegener, Shara Wertz, Toria Sanchez, Valerie Weeks, and William Tippitt.
