Transcend time and space at the new World Beats Concert Series. A kaleidoscope of music and culture, World Beats converges sounds from around the world with their rich and dynamic legacies. Inspired by Farm to Table: Art, Food, and Identity in the Age of Impressionism, World Beats 2024 explores music with French influences and pairs each concert with French wine and food selected by guest chefs, sommeliers, and other culinary specialists. So, whether you’re a seasoned traveler or an armchair explorer, be prepared for a music, art, and culinary experience to entice the senses.
East meets West when Jessica Fichot, an L.A.-based chanteuse, songwriter, and accordionist, hits the stage. Fichot and her trio offer a mesmerizing fusion of musical traditions, a world where the old blends seamlessly with the new, where French chanson meets Shanghai jazz, and where the accordion dances alongside the guzheng. Fichot is much like her hometown of Paris: French at heart but with an international soul. Drawing from her multi-ethnic French-Chinese-American upbringing, her music fuses styles and languages and will take listeners on a delightful journey into the wilderness of her imagination. Culinary Spotlight: Wine and cheese available for purchase.
