Troy, PhD- co-author, Mondrian’s Dress: Yves Saint Laurent, Piet Mondrian and Pop Art 2023-2024 Kress-Beinecke Professor at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts, National Gallery of Art, Washington DC Victoria and Roger Sant Professor in Art, Emerita, Department of Art and Art History at Stanford University, Stanford, CA presents:
Mondrian’s Dress: Yves Saint Laurent, Piet Mondrian, and Pop Art. The author will draw on her book to discuss how the style of Piet Mondrian’s abstract paintings was posthumously appropriated by 1960’s fashion, Pop art, and consumer culture.
A book signing will follow the lecture.
