This year marks the 200th anniversary of the Marquis de Lafayette’s triumphal tour of the US in 1824. Known as the “hero of two worlds,” Lafayette played a pivotal role in the American and French Revolutions, leaving behind a complicated legacy that invites both comparisons and contrasts between the two movements. Please join us to commemorate his visit to Norfolk as an occasion to reflect on the monumental changes wrought by the transatlantic Age of Revolutions as seen through the eyes of the Myers family.
