Let’s make the familiar strange in a collage workshop with exhibiting artist, Heather Beardsley, on view June 30 – October 29, 2023 in the Frank Photography Gallery. Participants will use historic photographs of Hampton Roads to make collages that consider the relationship between photography, history, and place. The fun and accessible collage process helps to create interesting and sometimes very surprising connections in a medium we encounter every day. This workshop will also demonstrate how to make a mini-zine from a collage on a single sheet of paper, which can be copied and shared.
All materials provided, though participants may choose to bring photographs with them to include in their collages.
$25 for Members, $40 for non-Members,
Space is limited – registration required.
