Waitzer Glass Galleries
Let Chrysler Museum of Art Director Erik Neil act as your personal guide through the galleries, highlighting a selection of his favorite works on view.
Ennion Bowl
“This is a killer bowl! What’s amazing is that this 2,000-year-old piece of glass survived. Beyond that, the artist— his name is Ennion—felt he was important enough and this was fine enough work of art for him to want to put his name on it.”
Tiffany Studios
“Walk through the Glass Galleries until you come to the Tiffany Gallery. This window was commissioned by Joseph Raphael de Lamar for ‘Pembroke,’ his $15 million Glen Cove, Long Island estate. It was originally installed above the mansion’s front entrance.”
On the Second Floor
Here, I offer you two paths. See our Collection masterpieces or embark on a quiet, more contemplative, looking tour.
Find a Host
“The Chrysler collection is renowned. But when I first visited the Museum, what struck me immediately were the Gallery Hosts. That doesn’t happen in every museum. Find a Host in blue if you have a question or need some assistance. They are there for you.”
“The Museum should be a place where you can stay awhile and have multiple experiences. I hope it means looking at great art and seeing an exhibition, but maybe you also do some shopping, hear some music, or have something to eat. Enjoy your visit at the Chrysler!”
