Au Revoir, Renoir
NORFOLK, Va. – The Chrysler Museum of Art invites everyone to Au Revoir Renoir, a party to celebrate the launch of the Chrysler Museum Roadshow that starts in 2013. The party is at the Museum, 245 W. Olney Road, Norfolk on December 26 from 6 to p.m. The event is FREE and open to the public.
The event will celebrate and say bon voyage to our art during a holiday open house. Entertainment will include the Virginia Chorale, a DJ, photo booth, tasty treats, Art Riff tours on a variety of topics, family activities, door prizes and more. Guests will also be able to provide comments and suggestions in a Wish-Us-Well gallery.
The Chrysler Museum Roadshow takes the Museum’s world-class collection and staff out into the Hampton Roads community while our main building is closed in 2013 for expansion. It is expected to be the greatest art-into-the-community effort in our history. During 2013, the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio will remain open in addition to the Willoughby-Baylor House and the Moses Myers House. Other exhibitions and programs are being planned at The Baron and Ellin Gordon Galleries at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, The Selden Arcade, Norfolk, The Virginia Arts Festival, Norfolk, The Visual Arts Center Galleries at Tidewater Community College, Portsmouth, The Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts, Suffolk, The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, Virginia Beach, galleries, schools, community groups throughout the seven cities, and community festivals and Mobile Glass Studio appearances.
