Chrysler Roadshow Rolls Out “Let’s Go Shopping” At The Selden Arcade
NORFOLK, Va. – (March 2013) – As part of the Chrysler Museum Roadshow effort to keep its art on view during the major expansion and renovation in 2013, the Museum has joined forces with the City of Norfolk to offer changing exhibitions at the Selden Arcade, 208 E. Main St., Norfolk.
On March 19, the Chrysler Museum presents Let’s Go Shopping at the Selden Arcade, a free exhibition that will be on view through June 8.
This eclectic selection from the Chrysler Museum’s Collection celebrates the act—and the art—of shopping, from 19th-century New York and Paris to modern-day Nanjing. The scope of paintings and photographs provide an insightful look at a universal human experience. Eras and cultures change, but the thrill of shopping endures.
The Chrysler’s Selden Arcade gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
Art at Lunch
Every Friday at noon, visitors are invited to drop by the gallery for a midday break. Pack a lunch or pick up something delicious at a nearby eatery. Bite-sized chats about art with the Chrysler staff will help you get your fill of culture.
