Photographic Histories
May 10, 2014 — August 17, 2014
Past Exhibition

Presented here are the multiple threads of the long history of photography contained in one short stroll.
We start with some of the earliest forms of photography—including a rare orotone—and progress to modern times while grouping portraits and landscapes and pictures that capture a moment. For those unfamiliar with photography as an art form, it’s a one-stop shop.

For those familiar with the genre, we can summarize the quality of the gallery by listing the names of the photographers involved. Here you will find works by Andre Kertesz, Harold Edgerton, Eadweard Muybridge, Man Ray, Robert Mapplethorpe, Mary Ellen Mark, Diane Arbus, Walker Evans, Lee Friedlander, Ilse Bing, Ernest Withers, W. Eugene Smith, Danny Lyons, and as shown at top, Garry Winogrand.
