Past Exhibition
The Chrysler Museum of Art is pleased two present two galleries featuring the work of students from the Governor’s School for the Arts.
Journeys, a juried exhibition, and Findings, a collaborative project, will be on view through Dec. 30.
“We fully respect our students as artists in their own right,” said Vic Frailing, the GSA Visual Arts Department Chair. “They are fearless.”
Due to an construction schedule change, two galleries that had been emptied in anticipation of closure became available, and Museum Director William Hennessey knew where to turn.
“We knew it would be fun to partner with the Governor’s School and the kids,” Hennessey said. “We love the school and what they do for our community. … We knew this exhibition would help them develop their professional skills. Preparation, installation, publicity—they are doing it all themselves.”
