Perry Glass Studio Expansion
The popular weekly glassblowing classes for the general public combined with partnerships with local colleges and community organizations resulted in rapid growth in the scope and quantity of the programs offered. Now, demand for the Studio’s space has reached capacity.
About the Expansion
The Perry Glass Studio complements the Chrysler Museum’s collection of more than 10,000 glass objects, regarded as one of the world’s premier collections of glass art. Increasing the capacity of the Studio will allow for new and expanded opportunities to engage the community and our academic partners in the glass arts.
The Studio expansion will
- Triple the square footage of the existing Studio and include a second Hot Shop.
- Double the number of classes available for community members to interact with glass art annually.
- Accommodate larger audiences for demonstrations, educational sessions, and events in a new 200-seat theater.
- Double the time for local artists to utilize glass-blowing equipment and space.
- Grow partnerships with collegiate institutions, as well as build new relationships.
