Join Erik Neil, the Macon and Joan Brock Director, and Corey Piper, the Brock Curator of American Art, on a local, stimulating adventure across the water to Newport News. This day trip will include visits to the Mary M. Torggler Fine Arts Center and The Mariners’ Museum and Park.
Attendees will experience the rare retrospective A Grand Menagerie: The Sculpture of Anna Hyatt Huntington, on view at the Torggler followed by lunch and then a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Batten Conservation Complex at The Mariners’ Museum.
The artist behind The Torch Bearers (1953, cast 1956-57), which has welcomed Chrysler Museum visitors for decades, Anna Hyatt Huntington, an acclaimed sculptor who exhibited internationally, is just now getting well-deserved attention. This opportunity to put her monumental works in context is rare, and one you will not want to miss.
The Chrysler Museum is making life easy, leave the planning, driving, tolls, and tunnel to us!
$60 for Museum members, $75 for non-members.
Registration required.
