Gary Sandling, Vice President of Visitor Programs & Services at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, will draw from the archaeological, architectural, curatorial, documentary, and oral history research to offer insight into slavery at Monticello. He will also discuss how this research, which dates back to the 1950s and continues in restoration at Monticello, has changed the interpretation of Monticello and Thomas Jefferson.
This program is sponsored by the Chrysler Museum’s Friends of Historic Houses.
