In October, Kol Nidrei is recited or sung in synagogues just before sundown on the eve of Yom Kippur. Central to these moments is atonement, a concept familiar to people of all backgrounds. Stories of atonement are reflected in many artworks at the Chrysler Museum. Join us in exploring the idea of atonement from varied artistic perspectives and cultures.
Museum experiences, like Art Matters, are evidence-based interventions that help to improve the quality of life for those living with dementia. Individuals with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease and their care partners are invited to diverse conversational tours at the renowned Chrysler Museum of Art designed to both offer a pleasant experience and serve as cognitive stimulation. Art Matters is a free program presented in partnership with the Southeastern Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
