Kick off a new season of Art Matters, and explore the interconnected relationship between art and the environment. Engaging with artwork from the Chrysler Museum’s collection and a special exhibition, this tour will discuss the exciting conservation feats happening at the Museum and look at the new exhibition Peter Bremers: Ice to Water. Inspired by Bremers’ journeys to Iceland, the exhibition meditates on the region’s vanishing glaciers.
Museum experiences, like Art Matters, are evidence-based interventions that help to improve the quality of life for those living with dementia. Individuals with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease and their care partners are invited to diverse conversational tours at the renowned Chrysler Museum of Art designed to both offer a pleasant experience and serve as cognitive stimulation. Art Matters is a free program presented in partnership with the Southeastern Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
