Individuals with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease and their care partners are invited to the Chrysler Museum to experience and discuss the work of Edward Steichen. Though he is best known today as one of the twentieth century’s leading photographers, Steichen began his artistic career as a painter. Edward Steichen: In Exaltation of Flowers features his most grand and ambitious effort in that medium. The seven-panel mural is paired with works from the Chrysler’s rich photography and decorative arts holdings that illuminate Steichen’s photographic career.
Art Matters is a free program presented in partnership with the Southeastern Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. To register, please call (800)272-3900.
